Journey with Aliveness

Journey with Aliveness

Imagination makes it possible to experience a whole world inside the mind and creates possibilities. It offers the opportunity to look at any situation from a different point of view and then to mentally explore the past and the future. Through the power of imagination, we can transform our lives and is one of the keys to living an enhanced or different life. Whatever outcome we envision, we can achieve. Using this gift, we can release limiting thoughts and realize our divine potential.

Learn to use your imagination to raise your thinking to a higher level and to consciously create by choosing to replace any negative (lower vibrational) thoughts with positive (higher vibrational) ones through awareness and intention. Doubt and fear are the biggest obstacles to the manifestation process. Understanding how to use your imagination and putting this knowledge into practice, for your own and others’ benefit, will put you on the path to success, satisfaction and happiness.

Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement. ~ Golda Meir

With so much heavy and chaotic energy surrounding us, it is essential to attain and maintain inner peace, not just for ourselves, but also for the collective consciousness. A heart-centered love-based intention reminds us to stay in a space of grace, especially when faced with challenges. In doing so, we are tapping into the well of Divine love. This love is accessible, unconditional and unfaltering. It transcends yet also embraces.

It is time for each one of us to wake up to our greatness so that we can truly live life fully. Have the courage to imagine this reality and choose to journey into consciousness with fullness and aliveness rather than simply existing.

Journey without Judgment

Journey without Judgment

I often say each one of us are having our own unique human life experience. However, all too often, we deny ourselves the opportunity to experience something magical or even limit ourselves based on the fear of being judged. What will people think? How will people perceive me? Will they like me? Is this good or bad, right or wrong?

We may also withhold expressing how we feel because we fear being criticized or judged for saying too much or not enough. To me, it feels extremely limiting to get caught up in what other people think, yet I am human, too, so those thoughts do arise.

As always, I like to clarify what I am referring to. According to Merriam-Webster.com., judgment is defined as “the process of forming an opinion or evaluation by discerning and comparing; the capacity for judging; a formal utterance of an authoritative opinion.” Criticism is defined as “the act of criticizing usually unfavorably; a critical observation or remark.”

Words are power. They have the ability to hurt or to heal. I’m “old school” in that I believe if you can’t say something nice, then don’t say anything at all as well as don’t give your opinion unless it is asked for.

Recent experiences and interactions prompted me to write this blog. I do my best to be an observer and even become conscious of when I am being a bit “judgy,” whether it is of myself or others. After packing my suitcase for a trip, I opted to weigh it to make sure that I was within airline weight limits. I weighed myself, so that I could weigh again holding the suitcase. The numbers on the scale reflected a number much higher than I desired them to be. I immediately began judging myself based on those numbers. Realizing the self-talk was ridiculous, I stopped berating myself and recognized I could do something to reduce the number it reflected or continue to be in a place of judgment.

After speaking recently at Unity of Fayetteville, I had two separate people approach me after the service saying they wished I had delivered a message that was less structured and more from the heart. Prior to their comments and even after, I had several people convey to me that they loved the message, and it touched them. I recognize people have their own perspective, and I can’t please everyone most of the time.

With that said, do your best to live your life fully with no regret. Speak from the heart. Be present in the moment. Stop judging (being critical) of yourself and those around you. Surrender to the sweetness of life. Live your life and let others live theirs. Everyone is experiencing their own journey into consciousness.

Journey with Creativity

Journey with Creativity

Growing up, we were often told, “Use your imagination.” When hearing those words, I immediately think of being creative – writing a story, painting a picture or creating some other piece of art, playing a game or so on.

I recently used my own creative talents by creating my daughter’s floral arrangements for her wedding. Caitlin’s vision was a vintage theme for her wedding, so she borrowed numerous coffee pots and tea pots from her grandmother Sylvia. Purchasing bulk flowers from Sam’s Club, we (Caitlin, my mom and myself) arranged all of the flowers, and we had an immense amount of fun while doing so.

We didn’t have a game plan; we simply opted to use our imagination and see what evolved. I was reminded of a talk I presented at Unity of Fayetteville on Beholding the Power of Imagination. Here is a short excerpt along with a couple of tips to increase your imagination for better creative thinking:

The ability to imagine enables us to experience a whole world inside our mind, and it is the ultimate creative power. A developed and strong imagination can strengthen your creative abilities and is a great tool for creating consciously to achieve our heart’s desires. What we imagine with faith and feelings comes into being. This involves incorporating aspects of creative visualization, positive thinking and affirmations. George Bernard Shaw suggests “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will.”

One way to increase your imagination is to expand your interests. Creativity is fueled by passion. Expand your interests by shifting your focus to include other interests that you may be passionate about. Another way is to read more. Creativity and imagination are sparked by learning.

What are some ways you use your imagination and creative talents?

Maintaining the Spark

Maintaining the Spark

Nobody is superior, nobody is inferior, but nobody is equal either.
People are simply unique, incomparable.
You are you, I am I.
I have to contribute my potential to life; you have to contribute your potential to life.
I have to discover my own being; you have to discover your own being. ~ Osho

Many individuals long to know their purpose. Who am I? Why I am here? What am I supposed to be doing? These questions are similar to keys that unlock the door to more! Asking these questions offers us the opportunity to connect to our Higher self – the knowingness of our soul.

Each one of us has the Divine spark within us. It is our right to be all that we are intended to be and so much more. Through awareness and conscious creation, we can each step forward into our own authentic expression as Divine beings on this planet. We can also choose to acknowledge our Oneness, while celebrating our uniqueness.

As we become more aware of our energetic emission as well as the importance of shining our Light bright, we offer others the comfort-ability to do so for themselves as well. As we change ourselves and our thought processes, we become empowered to stand in our power and to feel safe in expressing the truth of who we are. Shifting energy is truly a matter of changing how we view the situation, experience, person, place or thing!

Allow yourself the opportunity to embrace your aliveness and navigate the waters of your human life experience on this journey into consciousness. Even so, at times, our spark may need to be sparked. This inner fire does not go out completely, but it can feel like it at times. One conversation, one encounter, one moment can spark the spark, fan the flame, and relight the ember.

Honor yourself and feel your emotions as you recognize those individuals who rekindle your spirit.

In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out.
It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being.
We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.
~ Albert Schweitzer

Journey with Joy

Journey with Joy

As I’m beginning to write, these Sunday school song lyrics are in my mind:
I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart
Where?
Down in my heart!
Where?
Down in my heart!
I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart
Down in my heart to stay

Joy is defined as a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. Personally speaking, it is often the simple things that bring me the greatest joy. We have recently had a lot of rain in Oklahoma, and I am always on the lookout to see a rainbow when it rains. Traveling home from Tulsa last week, I was eager and excited to catch a glimpse of one beginning to form.

Subsequently, I was delighted to view an entire one from end to end. Sensing my joy, my husband offered to pull the truck over several times, so I could fully embody the experience rather than whizzing by at 65 mph.

I snapped several images, yet the vibrancy and expansiveness were unable to be captured fully. Nevertheless, here are two of the images from that moment in time.

Of course, this is just one example. I believe that it is essential for each one of us to become aware of how we’re investing our emotional, mental, financial, and physical energy, and then choosing to recognize whether these activities bring us joy, connection, nurturing, rest, and creativity to our lives.

When we focus on bringing love and joy to our life or perhaps just allowing it to happen rather than bringing, it will have a ripple effect throughout our life. A simple affirmation can assist us with this process.

Affirm ~ My heart overflows with gratitude and joy. I am conscious of being present in this moment. I recognize that I am love and I am loved. I am allowing myself to simply breathe.

What makes you happy? How do you journey with joy?

Journey with Compassion for Self

Journey with Compassion for Self

Compassion is defined as a strong feeling of empathy and perhaps even sympathy and sadness for other people’s suffering along with a desire to help.

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style. ~ Maya Angelou

As I often state, being human can be “tough” sometimes! This journey into consciousness reminds us of the need to have compassion for ourselves and those around us. During the January 21 breathwork session at H2Oasis Float Center & Tea House (read more about my experiences on the blog titled Journey with Breathwork), a friend and fellow attendee received this message from Spirit, “Many times, we are all too hard on ourselves. We are strong enough to endure this human life experience, and we need to be reminded of this periodically. It is essential that we have as much compassion for ourselves as we so often extend to others. In other words, we need to be easier on ourselves and much kinder.”

Heart-centered living involves practicing self-love, which is compassion for self. When we choose to accept and practice heart-centered living, we understand that we are the central point of creation of our personal reality – we are the center of our Universe.

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion. ~ Dalai Lama

Until we are able to fully understand love, both personally and experientially, which includes learning to love ourselves, we are of little value to those around us. Of course, this has nothing to do with selfishness, but with being awake and aware enough to know that we can only give what we are and what we have. Therefore, if we do not have love within us and for ourselves, how can we give love, kindness, respect or compassion to others?
