Lighten Up: Living in Prosperous Joy

Lighten Up: Living in Prosperous Joy

I recently had the opportunity to speak at Unity of Fayetteville in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  To listen to and/or download the inspirational message, please click the Hightail link.

The last few months, I’ve consistently become more aware of consciously choosing to live my life with passion, presence and purpose. Spending time in reflection has also involved questioning mortality, life and truly living.

I often say each one of us are having our own unique human life experience. However, all too often we deny ourselves the opportunity to experience something magical or even limit ourselves based on the fear of being judged. What will people think? How will people perceive me? Will they like me? Is this good or bad, right or wrong?

We may also withhold expressing how we feel because we fear being criticized or judged for saying too much or not enough. To me, it feels extremely limiting to get caught up in what other people think, yet I am human, too, so those thoughts do arise.

Take a moment to consider – Are you living a life of joy or simply existing?

It’s time for each one of us to lighten up and consciously choose to live a prosperous life with passion, presence and purpose. Do your best to live your life fully with no regret. Speak from the heart. Be present in the moment. Stop judging and being critical of yourself and those around you. Surrender to the sweetness of life. Live your life and let others live theirs. Everyone is experiencing their own journey into consciousness.

Journey with Joy

Journey with Joy

As I’m beginning to write, these Sunday school song lyrics are in my mind:
I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart
Where?
Down in my heart!
Where?
Down in my heart!
I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart
Down in my heart to stay

Joy is defined as a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. Personally speaking, it is often the simple things that bring me the greatest joy. We have recently had a lot of rain in Oklahoma, and I am always on the lookout to see a rainbow when it rains. Traveling home from Tulsa last week, I was eager and excited to catch a glimpse of one beginning to form.

Subsequently, I was delighted to view an entire one from end to end. Sensing my joy, my husband offered to pull the truck over several times, so I could fully embody the experience rather than whizzing by at 65 mph.

I snapped several images, yet the vibrancy and expansiveness were unable to be captured fully. Nevertheless, here are two of the images from that moment in time.

Of course, this is just one example. I believe that it is essential for each one of us to become aware of how we’re investing our emotional, mental, financial, and physical energy, and then choosing to recognize whether these activities bring us joy, connection, nurturing, rest, and creativity to our lives.

When we focus on bringing love and joy to our life or perhaps just allowing it to happen rather than bringing, it will have a ripple effect throughout our life. A simple affirmation can assist us with this process.

Affirm ~ My heart overflows with gratitude and joy. I am conscious of being present in this moment. I recognize that I am love and I am loved. I am allowing myself to simply breathe.

What makes you happy? How do you journey with joy?

Focus on Your Own Journey into Consciousness

Focus on Your Own Journey into Consciousness

This is a gentle reminder to do your best to focus on your own journey into consciousness rather than feeling that you have to keep up with the proverbial Jones, whether it be your friends, family members or even co-workers or colleagues. At times, you may feel like a kid in a metaphysical candy store with a plethora of options to choose from – classes to take, books to read, modalities to study, and so on. Choose to really feel into what resonates with you personally instead of what your friend or colleague is doing.

When you consciously choose to step into your power and tune in to what is right for you, the answer will be very clear. You will know what feels right and what doesn’t. You will know if the class, teacher, book, or modality resonates with you personally. The feeling of empowerment is a strong knowingness and undeniable. When others attempt to guide you based on their own preferences, the feeling is one of uncertainty or confusion. It may be right for them, but it may not be right for you.

In the same sense, share your experiences and opportunities with others, but do your best not to influence them or make them feel obligated. Let them make up their own mind. When you do, both of you are empowered!

Navigating this Journey into Consciousness

Navigating this Journey into Consciousness

The point of life is not to get anywhere – it is to notice that you are, and have always been, already there. There is no such thing as an incorrect path –
for on this journey you cannot “not get” where you are going.
~ Neale Donald Walsch

As I stated in my last blog titled, Choose to Meet People Where They Are, navigating these waters of life can be challenging at times. Some days everything is awesome and life is good. Other days, we may feel like we are treading water and barely staying afloat. This journey into consciousness reminds us that everyone is having their own human life experience.

Remember, your soul is already awake. It is your human-ness that is waking up and connecting to the knowing-ness of your soul. The waking up process is an on-going process of consciousness and awareness.

Strengthening your relationship with Spirit involves heightening your awareness and taking note of everyone and everything that comes into your awareness. Don’t be obsessive. Rather, begin to acknowledge what you experience through your senses as you focus your energy in the present moment. Pay attention to what you see, hear, feel and know. Doing so will become easier with practice.

Signs come in the form of animal messengers. They may be birds, insects, mammals or reptiles. I love referencing Ted Andrew’s animal speak pocket guide when an animal crosses my path literally or comes into my awareness through media or during the dream state. Also, number sequences on the clock or phone, license plates, receipts, etc. are signs. Songs or short lyrics that come into our mind or on the radio are also signs.

First, acknowledge that you see the sign (regardless of what it may be) and then express your gratitude for receiving it. You will gain clarity on the meaning in due time. Sometimes, the message is just the awareness of receiving a sign.

Be kind to yourself as well as to those around you. Everyone is experiencing life in their own way and has their own reality.

Faith is Everything

Faith is Everything

Faith is believing that the outcome will be what it should be, no matter what it is.
~ Colette Baron-Reid

First of all, please know that my intention for sharing this experience is purely to express what I learned, and it is not to be malicious or cause harm to anyone. For the interest of privacy, I have not named names or places as it does not add to or take away from the story itself.

The event I will be referring to was initially scheduled in early February and was to be held in early April. I had been corresponding with one of the co-owners of the space, but not the other. I asked several times as I had a feeling the other co-owner would not be receptive to a Messages from Spirit gallery reading event due to her faith. I was assured that it was not a problem.

Advertising for this event began as soon as it was confirmed and included postcards and flyers distributed to various locations via numerous friends, Facebook, Twitter, website, blog, constant contact mailing and via my radio show. 10 advance tickets were sold, yet tickets were also to be sold at the door (the actual amount of tickets possibly sold are an unknown variable).

A colleague flew in from New York to join me for the event and also work the Spirit Fair that weekend. We had visited the space twice earlier in the day. I received a call from the event manager at 3:40 pm just as I was preparing to leave the hotel. He indicated the space was double booked, which did not make sense to me, so I asked him to please tell me the truth in regards to this situation to which he stated religious beliefs/faith. He offered an additional venue, but it would have required rerouting the attendees. After discussing the viability of this option, we decided it would be best energetically to not do that.

Personally speaking, I was in complete shock when I received the call even though I had the knowingness from the beginning that the other co-owner would not be receptive. This is the first time this type of experience has happened to me, and I do feel discriminated against to a degree. I do honor and respect other individual’s personal and religious beliefs, and I do make a conscious effort to not make anyone purposefully uncomfortable.

With that being said, the Universe provided me with many lessons that night:

  1. Everything always happens for a reason.
  2. You cannot control what is beyond your control.
  3. Faith is huge – both religiously speaking and spiritually speaking.
  4. Don’t take things personally.
  5. ALWAYS see the blessings within the challenges.
  6. Definitely honor and feel your emotions (Yes, that night was quite an emotional rollercoaster!)

The blessings within the challenge allowed my colleague and I to have a nice dinner and conscious conversation, of which we probably would not have had time for. The Universe via the restaurant blessed us with a free dinner since they had issues with our meal. We were rested and worked the Spirit fair that weekend. Lastly, I was able to learn how to handle an experience such as this. If my colleague had not been a part of it and taken charge of the situation, I would have taken ownership of what was beyond my control and done what I could to make it right that evening.

As I’ve stated before, there are two ways to view everything – through the eyes of love and through the eyes of fear. Love is a heart-spaced higher vibrational energy; whereas fear comprises every emotion that is not love, including worry, fear, doubt, regret, guilt, shame, frustration and so on. Choosing to stay in the heart-space and see every individual and experience through the Higher vibration of love is essential for our journey into consciousness. Having the courage to express your beliefs to others and not being afraid of what they might think involves faith and fortitude. In addition, having the courage to honor another individual’s faith and beliefs is equally essential.

What’s faith have to do with it? Everything!
