Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners
who make our souls blossom. ~ Marcel Proust
We are not alone on this journey…
Every human being desires to not only feel loved, but to give love as well. It is innate within each one of us to want to connect with others, to want to be open and to live an authentic life. We want to love and to be loved in return. Expressing love and sharing kindness takes such a small effort, yet has an enormous effect. This ripple of love surpasses anything anyone could imagine if they would simply allow this love to come in. There is an essential need for people to grow together, support one another and walk together as both human companions and soul companions.
Recognizing your connection to those people who are in your life today will assist you in understanding the important roles we play in each other’s lives. Please remember though to not compare your journey to anyone else’s journey as we are all having our own unique human life experiences. As fellow travelers on this journey into consciousness, let’s be happy for one another, celebrate the accomplishments and be supportive during the challenging times.
Personally speaking, I’ve had relationships with both friends and colleagues shift and change. It isn’t a bad thing per se, it just happens. My true friends know that I am always a phone call, text or email away if they need me. Some of my friends I am in daily contact with. Others, there may be days, weeks and even months that go by with very little contact, yet once we do talk; it’s as if no time has passed. To me, that is what true friendship is all about.
Some people feel hurt and neglected if they have friends who aren’t “daily connection” friends. When you feel this way, honor yourself and what you are feeling and then ask yourself a few questions. Have you reached out to those friends in your life? Have you let them know that you miss them or that you need them? Have you been the kind of friend to them that you want them to be? Friendship is most definitely a 2-way street.
Ultimately, we are here to support, encourage and love one another for this human life experience.

As I mentioned in a previous blog, “
At one point during the evening, he stated as he pointed to the audience, “You are here for me.” The room filled with cheers and clapping hands. He paused and stated, “And I am here for you.” He conveyed, “I’ve spent the last 92 years to be here to experience this moment with you. And you’ve spent however many years to experience this moment with me.”
Saturday night, Goldenstein Gallery hosted a “Sweet and Greet” VIP book party with Norman Lear. Norman shared excerpts from his book. One of my favorite moments was when someone sneezed and many people said, “Bless you.” The individual sneezed again and the bless you’s were forthcoming. Norman stated very matter of factly “Okay, enough of that” in an Archie Bunker character tone to which everyone erupted in laughter.
Being mindfully present involves living in the moment rather than focusing on the future or dwelling in the past. Focus on living, being and breathing in the moment. As you become conscious of being present, your awareness will increase and you will become more connected with yourself and with others. Your appreciation for each moment will increase as well.
