Everything is Energy

Everything is Energy

Energy definition according to Merriam-Webster dictionary:

  1. the strength and vitality required for sustained physical or mental activity (a person’s physical and mental powers, typically as applied to a particular task or activity)
  2. power derived from the utilization of physical or chemical resources, especially to provide light and heat or to work machines

No activity is possible without energy, and its total amount in the universe is fixed. In other words, energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can only be changed from one type to another. This includes your loved ones who have transitioned from the earth plane. They no longer have a physical body, but still remain energy.

Breath is life-force energy. When we restrict our breathing, we diminish our life energy. Deep breathing expands the lungs, which then send a direct message to your heart, which in turn starts beating slower. Focus your awareness on your breath – each inhalation and exhalation. Is it shallow or deep, slow or fast, smooth or rough, regular or irregular?

Thoughts, words, action = energy!

Be mindful of the energy you are putting out into the Universe with your thoughts, words and actions as you are attracting this same energy back into your life. What you focus on becomes your reality. Your self-talk and the other thoughts running through your mind are similar to radio signals. Choose to be conscious of those energetic emissions.

What energetic emission/radio transmission are you sending out? No need to define it as “good” or “bad.” Simply have the awareness of your energy. Is your energy scattered or focused/grounded? Empowered or dis-empowered? Clingy/needy or confident? Stable or unstable? Joyful/happy or unhappy? Light or heavy? Now, take a deep breath and really tap into creating consciously with your energetic emission.

Journey with Support

Journey with Support

marcelproustquote

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners
who make our souls blossom
. ~ Marcel Proust

We are not alone on this journey…

Every human being desires to not only feel loved, but to give love as well. It is innate within each one of us to want to connect with others, to want to be open and to live an authentic life. We want to love and to be loved in return. Expressing love and sharing kindness takes such a small effort, yet has an enormous effect. This ripple of love surpasses anything anyone could imagine if they would simply allow this love to come in. There is an essential need for people to grow together, support one another and walk together as both human companions and soul companions.

Recognizing your connection to those people who are in your life today will assist you in understanding the important roles we play in each other’s lives. Please remember though to not compare your journey to anyone else’s journey as we are all having our own unique human life experiences. As fellow travelers on this journey into consciousness, let’s be happy for one another, celebrate the accomplishments and be supportive during the challenging times.

Personally speaking, I’ve had relationships with both friends and colleagues shift and change. It isn’t a bad thing per se, it just happens. My true friends know that I am always a phone call, text or email away if they need me. Some of my friends I am in daily contact with. Others, there may be days, weeks and even months that go by with very little contact, yet once we do talk; it’s as if no time has passed. To me, that is what true friendship is all about.

Some people feel hurt and neglected if they have friends who aren’t “daily connection” friends. When you feel this way, honor yourself and what you are feeling and then ask yourself a few questions. Have you reached out to those friends in your life? Have you let them know that you miss them or that you need them? Have you been the kind of friend to them that you want them to be? Friendship is most definitely a 2-way street.

Ultimately, we are here to support, encourage and love one another for this human life experience.

Journey with Empowerment

Journey with Empowerment

As an Intuitive Medium, Reiki Master and Spiritual Growth Coach, my purpose is to assist others on their journey into consciousness by empowering them to recognize and acknowledge the guidance they are receiving for themselves. Our solar plexus chakra is the energetic center of our knowingness, also referred to as our “gut instinct.” As we tune into this power center, we become more empowered to stand in our power and to feel safe in shining our Light bright.

What does standing in your power mean?
When you allow yourself to be who you really are with all people all of the time, you are exhibiting the courage and strength to be seen and heard. I refer to this courage as standing in your power. This involves communicating your needs and desires to others as well as to yourself. Standing in your power simply means “owning” what you believe to be true and then speaking your truth. Emanating this power in your words and actions requires no thought when you become accustomed to doing so.

Throughout your life, some people may try to control you or the choices you are making. When you allow this to happen, you are either consciously or subconsciously giving your power away to another. Do you recognize when this happens? How does it make you feel?

Any time a pattern or experience repeats itself, it is important to acknowledge it and then allow yourself to see things from a Higher perspective. These experiences will continue to repeat themselves until you recognize the lesson the experience is offering. You may ask – What am I supposed to learn from this experience. Why do I feel this way?

8 Steps to Become Empowered

  1. Ground and center your energy while consciously bringing your energy to this present moment. You are in the flow of manifestation when you are living in the here and now rather than dwelling in the past or planning the future.
  2. Have the courage to be who you are always and in all ways. There is no need to carry the energy of what others may think or say about you. Each one of us is having our own human life experience. Choose to honor your experience as well as everyone else’s experience.
  3. Say what you mean to say. When you speak your truth, you will recognize the importance of hearing the truth from others. Be mindful when communicating and discern if you are coming from a place of love or fear/lack. Communicate your needs and desires to yourself and to others. Don’t assume that everyone can read your mind – you have to speak up.
  4. Listen to what your body is telling you. Pay attention to the sensations that you feel physically. As you heighten your awareness and tune in, you will be accustomed to recognizing this communication.
  5. Surrender and release to Spirit/the Universe anything you cannot control. The five things you can actually control are your own thoughts, words, actions, emotions and reactions.
  6. Choose to be conscious of the energy you are emitting. Are you sending mixed signals to the Universe with your thoughts/words and actions? When you align your thoughts, words and actions with your beliefs, you are walking your talk and talking your walk.
  7. Trust the guidance you are receiving. You may not understand the how, when, why, what, where aspects, but it is important to acknowledge the guidance you are receiving and express your gratitude for receiving it.
  8. Be patient with your progress. Cease the mind chatter and negative self-talk. Honor yourself and what you are feeling.

Practicing Mindfulness

Practicing Mindfulness

mindful

Mindfulness helps you to touch the wonders of life for self-nourishment and healing.
~
Thich Nhat Hanh

Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh (Tik · N’yat · Hawn) is a spiritual leader, author, poet and peace activist, who is respected throughout the world for his powerful teachings on mindfulness and peace. Among his many important teachings is that in order to heighten one’s awareness, it is essential to be mindful of all that is experienced in each and every moment. He teaches that incorporating enhanced awareness into our daily life will ultimately enrich our lives.

An influential and inspirational presence, Thich Nhat Hanh is affectionately known as Thay (pronounced “Tay” or “Tie”) by his students, which is the Vietnamese word for teacher. He influenced my own personal journey into consciousness as well as that of numerous others, and I have found that his key teaching is that, “through mindfulness, we can learn to live happily in the present moment, which is the only way to truly develop peace, both in one’s self and in the world.”

The Plum Village.org website talks about mindfulness as, “the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment. It is the continuous practice of touching life deeply in every moment of daily life. To be mindful is to be truly alive, present and at one with those around you and with what you are doing. We bring our body and mind into harmony while we wash the dishes, drive the car or take our morning shower.”

From my perspective, as we become more aware and mindful of our own personal power, we are better able to make conscious choices, and give ourselves permission to take control of our destiny instead of leaving it up to fate.

Life can be found only in the present moment. The past is gone, the future is not yet here,
and if we do not go back to ourselves in the present moment, we cannot be in touch with life.
~
Thich Nhat Hanh

By shifting perception of an experience, the experience itself will change, including those in the past, the ones that are presently occurring and those that have yet to happen. This transformation involves altering one’s mindset and attitude as well as being mindful of one’s thoughts, words and actions – the energetic emission that radiates from each one of us.

Shining your Light on this Journey into Consciousness

Shining your Light on this Journey into Consciousness

Honor your LightThis little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine…let it shine, let it shine, let it shine

I remember singing these beautiful words in Sunday school when I was a child. As I am sitting here reflecting, I don’t believe that I really knew at the time the poignant meaning behind these simple words. I remember that I definitely didn’t feel like I was shining my light bright. I just happened to be singing the song.

As I have mentioned before, I was conditioned as a child to mind my manners, keep my opinions to myself, and do as I was told. I lacked both confidence and self-esteem, and I was painfully shy. My light definitely was not shining very bright, and I am not sure that it was even shining at all.

Fast forward many years, I read Marianne Williamson’s powerful quote, “A Deepest Fear,” and discovered the significance of shining my light bright. Marianne’s words had an enormous impact on my life the first time I read them. Actually, every time I read this quote, I have that same feeling of empowerment wash over me. It is the perfect reminder for me to shine my own light bright, and I encourage you to do the same.

You may be asking, “What light are you referring to?” This light is your soul; the very essence of your being. Each one of us has the Divine spark within us. It is our right to be all that we are intended to be and so much more. As Marianne says, “We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

Are you capable of doing this? Is it possible for you to shine your light bright? Don’t hold back now. This is your life, you are creating it, and you have the power to choose how bright you want to shine. You are in control of your light. No one else is nor should they have the ability to control it. Do not allow anyone to dim your light under any circumstances for any reason whatsoever.

The important thing is to recognize that this will happen and then acknowledge when it happens so we can move through these feelings rather than allowing them to manifest further.  As I honor my own light, I also honor everyone else’s light.  I honor and respect the emotions that I feel so that I can continue to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I understand that I need to honor the light within me so that it can continue to shine bright.

With that said, I am paying attention to the guidance that I am receiving. I know and trust that all is happening exactly as it should in this moment and in every moment. What I have come to realize is that life is truly all about making choices and then choosing to take action on the choices that we make. When we align our thoughts, words, and actions with our beliefs and come from a place of love, amazing things will and do happen. We attract those people into our life who are a reflection of us. To connect with our inner light, we must connect with our heart and open our heart to love.
