Strengthen your Chakras with Visualization

chakraclearingOur Chakras or energy centers are spinning wheels of light that act as energy transformers through which we receive and transmit life force energy – spiritual, emotional, mental and physical. When the chakras are open (too receptive) or closed (too non-receptive), an energetic imbalance and even physical pain may develop since each of the seven main chakras is associated with emotions and physical organs. Maintaining a healthy and balanced chakra system is essential. Allow yourself the opportunity to tune in to what your physical body and energetic centers are conveying to you. In addition to clearing and balancing your chakras, it is important and beneficial to strengthen them as well through intention and visualization involving color.

Using the respective color for each chakra, set the intention to first clear, balance and then strengthen each one. To begin with, focus on bringing your energy to the present moment in the here and now. Then, set the intention to ground and center your energy by envisioning your legs as tree roots growing deep into the earth (grounding) and a ball of white light at your core (centering). Take a big deep breath and visualize yourself breathing in emerald green healing energy from Archangel Raphael and letting go of anyone and anything that no longer serves you or your Highest purpose, including any fear, worry, doubt or any of the lower vibrational emotions. Consciously choose to feel these emotions, so that you can acknowledge and release them as you move into the higher vibrational heart-space of love and trust.

The Root or Base chakra is red and is associated with survival needs along with the lower vibrational energies of worry, fear, doubt, regret, guilt and shame. It is our foundation and the connection to the physical plane. Physical organs include the colon, rectum and adrenal glands. To balance and strengthen this energy center, work with the color red for the Root chakra – wear red clothing, eat red foods (strawberries, apples, red pepper, watermelon, tomatoes, raspberries) or visualize what you are eating or drinking as red and work with red crystals, such as jasper, garnet or any of the grounding crystals, including hematite, smoky quartz or jet.

The Sacral chakra is orange and is correlated with creativity, inspiration and sexuality. Physical organs include the kidneys, lower abdomen, liver, prostate gland and reproductive systems. To balance and strengthen this energy center, work with the color orange for the Sacral chakra – wear orange clothing, eat orange foods (oranges, carrots, orange pepper, cantaloupe, apricots, butternut squash, sweet potatoes) or visualize what you are eating or drinking as orange and work with orange crystals, such as carnelian, topaz and orange calcite.

The Solar Plexus chakra is yellow and is your power center and gut instinct. The digestive system, spleen and stomach are the physical organs connected to the Solar Plexus, which is related to our will, personal power and identity. To balance and strengthen this energy center, work with the color yellow for the Solar Plexus chakra – wear yellow clothing, eat yellow foods (squash, bananas, pears, pineapple, corn, lemons) or visualize what you are eating or drinking as yellow and work with yellow crystals, such as citrine, yellow calcite, yellow tourmaline and tiger’s eye.

The Heart chakra is green and is associated with love, including love for self and others, and all other emotions. Our spiritual home, the Heart chakra is tied to the physical body organs of the heart, lungs, rib cage, thymus gland and breasts. To balance and strengthen this energy center, work with the color green for the Heart chakra – wear green clothing, eat green foods (celery, green pepper, green grapes, lettuce, kale, cabbage, limes, avocadoes, green beans, peas, broccoli, cucumbers) or visualize what you are eating or drinking as green and work with green crystals, such as amazonite, aventurine and chrysoprase as well as pink rose quartz, which is the stone of unconditional love.

The Throat chakra is blue and is your voice – the area of communication and self-expression. Physical body organs involve the neck, voice, thyroid gland and throat. To balance and strengthen this energy center, work with the color blue for the Throat chakra – wear blue clothing, eat blue foods (blueberries, blackberries, figs) or visualize what you are eating or drinking as blue and work with blue crystals, such as blue lace agate, blue calcite, lapis lazuli and sodalite.

The Third Eye chakra is indigo or violet in color and is your area of intuition and spiritual awareness. The physical body organs include the pituitary gland and the higher brain centers, including the endocrine and nervous systems. To balance and strengthen this energy center, work with the color purple for the Third Eye chakra – wear purple clothing, eat purple foods (eggplant, purple grapes, plums, purple cabbage) or visualize what you are eating or drinking as purple and work with purple crystals, such as amethyst and purple fluorite.

The Crown chakra is white and is your connection to Source energy. This energy center involves all-knowing and understanding and is connected to the pineal gland and highest brain centers, including metabolism. To balance and strengthen this energy center, work with the color white for the Crown chakra – wear white clothing, eat white foods (white onions, cauliflower, coconut, garlic, mushrooms) or visualize what you are eating or drinking as white and work with clear crystals, such as crystal quartz, clear tourmaline and opal.

Remember, intention is key to assist you in enhancing those energy centers that may require some attention. Take note of what your physical body is saying to you as you incorporate visualization with color into your spiritual practice.

Faith is Everything

Faith is Everything

Faith is believing that the outcome will be what it should be, no matter what it is.
~ Colette Baron-Reid

First of all, please know that my intention for sharing this experience is purely to express what I learned, and it is not to be malicious or cause harm to anyone. For the interest of privacy, I have not named names or places as it does not add to or take away from the story itself.

The event I will be referring to was initially scheduled in early February and was to be held in early April. I had been corresponding with one of the co-owners of the space, but not the other. I asked several times as I had a feeling the other co-owner would not be receptive to a Messages from Spirit gallery reading event due to her faith. I was assured that it was not a problem.

Advertising for this event began as soon as it was confirmed and included postcards and flyers distributed to various locations via numerous friends, Facebook, Twitter, website, blog, constant contact mailing and via my radio show. 10 advance tickets were sold, yet tickets were also to be sold at the door (the actual amount of tickets possibly sold are an unknown variable).

A colleague flew in from New York to join me for the event and also work the Spirit Fair that weekend. We had visited the space twice earlier in the day. I received a call from the event manager at 3:40 pm just as I was preparing to leave the hotel. He indicated the space was double booked, which did not make sense to me, so I asked him to please tell me the truth in regards to this situation to which he stated religious beliefs/faith. He offered an additional venue, but it would have required rerouting the attendees. After discussing the viability of this option, we decided it would be best energetically to not do that.

Personally speaking, I was in complete shock when I received the call even though I had the knowingness from the beginning that the other co-owner would not be receptive. This is the first time this type of experience has happened to me, and I do feel discriminated against to a degree. I do honor and respect other individual’s personal and religious beliefs, and I do make a conscious effort to not make anyone purposefully uncomfortable.

With that being said, the Universe provided me with many lessons that night:

  1. Everything always happens for a reason.
  2. You cannot control what is beyond your control.
  3. Faith is huge – both religiously speaking and spiritually speaking.
  4. Don’t take things personally.
  5. ALWAYS see the blessings within the challenges.
  6. Definitely honor and feel your emotions (Yes, that night was quite an emotional rollercoaster!)

The blessings within the challenge allowed my colleague and I to have a nice dinner and conscious conversation, of which we probably would not have had time for. The Universe via the restaurant blessed us with a free dinner since they had issues with our meal. We were rested and worked the Spirit fair that weekend. Lastly, I was able to learn how to handle an experience such as this. If my colleague had not been a part of it and taken charge of the situation, I would have taken ownership of what was beyond my control and done what I could to make it right that evening.

As I’ve stated before, there are two ways to view everything – through the eyes of love and through the eyes of fear. Love is a heart-spaced higher vibrational energy; whereas fear comprises every emotion that is not love, including worry, fear, doubt, regret, guilt, shame, frustration and so on. Choosing to stay in the heart-space and see every individual and experience through the Higher vibration of love is essential for our journey into consciousness. Having the courage to express your beliefs to others and not being afraid of what they might think involves faith and fortitude. In addition, having the courage to honor another individual’s faith and beliefs is equally essential.

What’s faith have to do with it? Everything!

Journey with Empowerment

Journey with Empowerment

As an Intuitive Medium, Reiki Master and Spiritual Growth Coach, my purpose is to assist others on their journey into consciousness by empowering them to recognize and acknowledge the guidance they are receiving for themselves. Our solar plexus chakra is the energetic center of our knowingness, also referred to as our “gut instinct.” As we tune into this power center, we become more empowered to stand in our power and to feel safe in shining our Light bright.

shinelight

What does standing in your power mean?
When you allow yourself to be who you really are with all people all of the time, you are exhibiting the courage and strength to be seen and heard. I refer to this courage as standing in your power. This involves communicating your needs and desires to others as well as to yourself. Standing in your power simply means “owning” what you believe to be true and then speaking your truth. Emanating this power in your words and actions requires no thought when you become accustomed to doing so.

Throughout your life, some people may try to control you or the choices you are making. When you allow this to happen, you are either consciously or subconsciously giving your power away to another. Do you recognize when this happens? How does it make you feel?

Any time a pattern or experience repeats itself, it is important to acknowledge it and then allow yourself to see things from a Higher perspective. These experiences will continue to repeat themselves until you recognize the lesson the experience is offering. You may ask – What am I supposed to learn from this experience. Why do I feel this way?

8 Steps to Become Empowered

  1. Ground and center your energy while consciously bringing your energy to this present moment. You are in the flow of manifestation when you are living in the here and now rather than dwelling in the past or planning the future.
  2. Have the courage to be who you are always and in all ways. There is no need to carry the energy of what others may think or say about you. Each one of us is having our own human life experience. Choose to honor your experience as well as everyone else’s experience.
  3. Say what you mean to say. When you speak your truth, you will recognize the importance of hearing the truth from others. Be mindful when communicating and discern if you are coming from a place of love or fear/lack. Communicate your needs and desires to yourself and to others. Don’t assume that everyone can read your mind – you have to speak up.
  4. Listen to what your body is telling you. Pay attention to the sensations that you feel physically. As you heighten your awareness and tune in, you will be accustomed to recognizing this communication.
  5. Surrender and release to Spirit/the Universe anything you cannot control. The five things you can actually control are your own thoughts, words, actions, emotions and reactions.
  6. Choose to be conscious of the energy you are emitting. Are you sending mixed signals to the Universe with your thoughts/words and actions? When you align your thoughts, words and actions with your beliefs, you are walking your talk and talking your walk.
  7. Trust the guidance you are receiving. You may not understand the how, when, why, what, where aspects, but it is important to acknowledge the guidance you are receiving and express your gratitude for receiving it.
  8. Be patient with your progress. Cease the mind chatter and negative self-talk. Honor yourself and what you are feeling.

Journey with Gratitude

Journey with Gratitude

I recently had the pleasure of speaking at the Northwest Arkansas Center for Spiritual Living in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Sunday, September 21, 2014. To listen and/or download the talk, please click on this link.

September’s theme at the Center for Spiritual Living is Sowing Seeds of Abundance and discussing the principles and process of true prosperity with the focus on the community reading the book, Spiritual Economics by Eric Butterworth.

According to Merriam-Webster dictionary,
Definition of prosperity – the condition of being successful or thriving
Definition of abundance – a large amount of something
Definition of gratitude – a feeling of appreciation or thanks

Abundance is not just money, but it is also health, well-being, happiness and financial prosperity. In order to create prosperity and abundance in all of its forms, feeling and expressing gratitude is necessary.

Affirmation for the Week ~ I bring to each experience, a heart of appreciation and gratitude.

Gratitude quotes:

Gratitude is the best attitude. ~ Author Unknown
The struggle ends when the gratitude begins. ~ Neale Donald Walsch
A grateful mind is a great mind, which eventually attracts great things. ~ Plato
If you want to turn your life around, try thankfulness. It will change your life mightily. ~ Gerald Good
Gratitude is an opener of locked-up blessings. ~ Marianne Williamson
Appreciation is the purest vibration that exists on the planet today. ~ Abraham–Hicks
All that we behold is full of blessings. ~ William Wordsworth

Consciously choose to experience a grateful heart:
Eric Butterworth states, “If you carefully search within yourself, you may come to the awareness that your most important asset is the conscious control of your own life. Nothing else can satisfy or fulfill unless you enjoy the freedom that comes from the control of your inner world of mind and emotions.”

It is important to note that we only technically have control of our own thoughts, words, actions, emotions and reactions. We cannot control another individual, an experience or even the economy, but we can control how we choose to perceive it and how we wish to respond to what is perceived. With that being said, we can allow what is happening around us to affect our internal state of being or we can take control and allow the peace we have within us to affect our external circumstances.

By choosing to see all experiences, especially the challenges, from a Higher soul perspective, we will see them differently. Consciously choose to express your gratitude and acknowledge the blessings you observe within the challenges. Doing so will shift the energy of the experience. By focusing your energy on this present moment, in the here and now, rather than dwelling in the past or planning the future, you are in the flow of creation.

Eric Butterworth notes in Spiritual Economics, “When the appearance of lack shows up in your life, go to that high view point, be grateful, and then bless it. Once you have blessed it you can easily let it go and gain back the control of your own creative process, and thus the flow is opened.”

In addition, Charles Fillmore tells us that, “Blessing the substance increases the flow. If your money supply is low or your purse seems empty, take it in your hands and bless it.”

If you wish to increase the abundance in your life, focus on abundance and affirm “I bring to each experience, a heart of appreciation and gratitude.”

Simply speaking, gratitude is an expression of thankfulness. The simple words, “Thank you,” extend far beyond their utterance. They are an acknowledgement of appreciation. Thanking another individual for having completed a task, the extension of a hand in friendship, and even the recognition of a compliment reflect the gratitude you are feeling. The energy of gratitude is a high vibration and one of love. The Universe will reflect this grateful energy back to you in the form of blessings and abundance.

Consciously choose to emit this grateful energy out into the Universe and allow yourself to be in the flow of creation in this present moment in order for the manifestation to occur.

Questions to Consider:
What are you thankful for?
When do you express your gratitude?
How do you express your gratitude?

Affirm ~ My heart overflows with gratitude and joy. I am conscious of being present in this moment. I recognize that I am a creator, and I am creating my reality. I am allowing myself to simply breathe. I am surrendering to the Universe any feelings of lack inhibiting the flow of my abundance. I am releasing it now fully and completely. I choose to create my life and all of its experiences consciously.

Journey into Being Mindfully Present

Journey into Being Mindfully Present

The deeper I have delved into my spiritual work, the more I have realized the importance of being present. I have learned to appreciate each moment of each day as well as the necessity of balancing work with play and taking time for myself.

breatheoprahquoteBeing mindfully present involves living in the moment rather than focusing on the future or dwelling in the past. Focus on living, being and breathing in the moment. As you become conscious of being present, your awareness will increase and you will become more connected with yourself and with others. Your appreciation for each moment will increase as well.

Being present also involves acknowledging, recognizing and then silencing the voice inside your head, otherwise known as mind chatter – the flow of words in the form of thoughts and questions that stream through one’s mind continuously causing doubt and uncertainty. Your thoughts, words, and actions are energy. Therefore, this mind chatter would be considered an energetic emission much like a radio signal.

Individuals tend to replay scenarios over and over again and ask, “What could I have done differently?” or “What if…?” They also play the “should” game saying, “I should have done this or I should have done that….then, this would not have happened.” How can you be so sure? Hindsight, which is the ability of understanding later what was actually the best thing to do, is formidable. We tend to retain from experiences what is necessary for future growth. In reality, the decisions we make at the time we made them are because we have free will. Each one of us is having a human experience because we choose to. Learning from our experiences and not repeating them unless we choose to is a benefit to having them to begin with.

Consciously choosing to live in this present moment – in the here and now – enables you to be in the flow of creation. Choose to be in the flow of allowance rather than restricting or inhibiting this flow with fear, worry, doubt or the linear aspect of time.
