Choose to Attain the Peace Within

Choose to Attain the Peace Within

Globally, we are experiencing a lot of heavy, fear-based energy due to health-related concerns. Each one of us needs to do our best to be present, stay calm and attain the peace within. It is essential that we do our best to shift from the vibration of fear to knowing the “social distancing” is a wonderful opportunity for introspection, self-reflection, self-care and self-love rather than see it as a negative.

I was recently interviewed by Dr. William Seeds for Authority Magazine on 5 Ways to Develop Serenity During Anxious Times. To read the article in its entirety, please click the link. I’ve shared the main points below:

Five things we can each do to develop serenity during uncertain and anxious times:

  1. Be present in the moment
  2. Practice good energetic hygiene by being grounded and centered
  3. Breathe consciously and intentionally
  4. Zone in on Zen and attain the peace within
  5. Choose to respond rather than react to external circumstances

Five things we can each do to support each other during uncertain and anxious times:

  1. Be supportive and encouraging
  2. Reach out rather than waiting on the other person to do so
  3. Speak your truth and communicate what you are feeling without hesitation
  4. Listen intently without judgment
  5. Choose to stay in a space of grace recognizing each person is having their own human life experience

Happy Love Day! Are you loving you?

Happy Love Day! Are you loving you?

In his book, Whatever Arises, Love That, Matt Kahn refers to the new paradigm of spirituality as a love revolution that begins with you. You are a drop in the ocean of all. How you feel and what you do contributes to that metaphorical ocean of oneness.

Self-love is a choice. It is not the result of achieving this or getting that. Self-love is not a destination; it’s a practice. Self-love is the foundation on which we build a happy life. Without self-love, we have nowhere to put the love or abundance that comes to us.

Just be love…
Love is always here!

Not sure what it looks like to love yourself?
Self-love is…

1. Choosing ourselves and taking responsibility for all of our choices and experiences.

2. Establishing personal boundaries and knowing what is right for you, including saying “no” when you mean no rather than saying yes to appease others.

3. Saying what you mean to say and also communicating your needs and desires to yourself and to others.

4. Taking care of our physical health by giving our body the nurturing, rest, exercise, and comfort it needs to the best of our ability.

5. Honoring our emotions and mental health, while recognizing certain people, places or things may not be right for us or resonate with us.

6. Wearing clothes that make us feel good rather than keeping up with the current styles.

7. Taking time to do whatever we love, just to play, without worrying about wasting time.

8. Seeing ourselves as beautiful, unique and miraculous creations without feeling guilty, arrogant, or entitled to do so.

9. Not rehashing our self-perceived mistakes and instead choosing to see them as opportunities for learning and growth.

10. Spending some quality, connected time with ourselves, which may include pampering, instead of partaking in activities to just occupy our time.

11. Trusting the individualized path that our soul is on without comparing our journey to others and making a genuine effort to become a conscious co-creator of our destiny.

12. Listening to our heart/spirit and following what our gut/intuition says instead of living out of our brain and ego.

13. Knowing how we’re spending our emotional, mental, financial, and physical energy, and recognizing whether these activities bring back joy, connection, nurturing, rest, and creativity to our lives

Journey of Empowerment through Self-Love

Journey of Empowerment through Self-Love

Love is a feeling, an emotion, a state of being. When you focus on loving yourself, it is empowering. Doing so isn’t selfish; it is self-love. You are worthy to receive the same love that you give out. Don’t doubt your ability to love and to be loved.

According to Merriam-Webster, the definition of self-love is the “regard for one’s own well-being and happiness.”

Practicing self-love is a choice. It is not the result of achieving this or attaining that. There is nothing to wait for or anyone to wait on. Self-love is not a destination; it’s a journey.

In his book, Whatever Arises, Love That, Matt Kahn refers to “the new paradigm of spirituality as a love revolution that begins with you,” which reminds us that self-love is essential as the basic foundation on which we build a happy and abundant life.

What is the Difference between Victimhood and Empowerment?

According to Matt, “In victimhood, you hold yourself emotionally hostage while waiting for others to tell you what they may not be able to say. Until they do, you remain at odds with life, blaming those who haven’t spoken the words you need to hear as the reason for your suffering.

On the other hand, Matt reminds us that the feeling of “empowerment is not about waiting for other people to say the right words at all. It is realizing how you are the one who needs to say the things that you’ve waited your entire life to hear. Only you hold the key to opening your heart by supporting yourself in a more consistent and intimate way.”

Now is the time to love you for who you are through the empowering act of self-love. It is time to love the choices you make. Feel empowered and give yourself permission to connect with and embrace the power of your heart as you focus on your physical health and mental/emotional well-being.

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

bookmark4It is often your unconscious mind, which is far more powerful than your conscious mind, that tells and teaches people how to treat you and how to interact with you. ~ Debbie Ford

Each one of us is a spiritual being having a human life experience incarnated into a physical body for this incarnation. Recognizing that you are a spark of the Divine and that you are a beautiful, unique and miraculous creation, it is essential that you love you for who you are.

Doing so isn’t self-ish; it is self-love. When you open your heart to loving you, you allow the love you have inside of you to expand outwards to attract this same love back into your life. How do you view yourself? What does your self-talk sound like? Is it negative/critical or positive/life-affirming?

The way you treat yourself sets the standard for others. ~ Sonya Friedman

Take a moment to tune in and write down any self-perceived imperfections or negative thoughts that come into your awareness. Then, allow yourself to read what you have written. How does it feel when you read what you have written?

Now, let us shift the energy and move into the vibration of loving you. Take a moment to tune in and write down positive thoughts about yourself as well as compliments you have received from others that come into your awareness. Then, allow yourself to read what you have written. How do you feel when reading these words?

Allow yourself the opportunity to become mindful of the energy you are putting out into the Universe with your thoughts, words and actions as you are attracting this same energy back into your life. Your self-talk and the other thoughts running through your mind are similar to radio signals or energetic emissions. Word modification may be necessary as you practice being cognizant of your thoughts, words and actions. Can you say the same thing in another, more positive, life-affirming way?

Consciously choose to be your own kind of beautiful and embrace the you that is you! Yes, this means all of you, including any perceived imperfections you may have as well. Recognize that there is no one else in the Universe exactly like you. Make the choice to love yourself for who you are – fully and completely. Accept your uniqueness and dismiss any perceived flaws or imperfections because you are perfect just the way you are.

As each one of us becomes more aware of our energetic emission as well as the importance of shining our Light bright, we offer others the comfort-ability to do so for themselves as well. As we change ourselves (and our thought processes), we change the world.
